Tips to give your self-confidence instantaneous boost.

Groom yourself
It is amazing how much of a difference a shower and shaving or make-up can make in your feelings of self-confidence and for your self-image. You could turn your mood around completely by simply grooming yourself. So clean up those fingernails and toenails and cut them short. Get that cute hairstyle you so admire. Brush and floss often and keep breath mints. Dab on some cologne or wear a nice perfume. You will surely fall in love with your new look.

Dress nicely
If you dress nicely, you will feel good about yourself. You will feel successful and presentable and ready to tackle the world. So the next time you are at the clothes shop, put some thought into the clothes you pick.

Mentally work on your self-image.
Our self-image means a lot to us, more than we often realize. We have a mental picture of ourselves and it determines how confident we are in ourselves. But this picture is not unalterable. Use your mental ‘Photoshop’ skills. Figure out why you see yourself that way and find a way to fix it. Spend some time looking at yourself in the eye in front of a mirror. Smile, smile and keep smiling to yourself. Tell yourself you like what you see and mean it. When walking stand tall by keeping your shoulders square and keep your head erect. When sitting always sit erect. Do not slum or slouch, and always make eye contact in a non-invasive way.

Be kind and generous
You have to know that being kind to people, and generous with yourself and your time and what you have is a tremendous way to improve your self-image. Get involved in some volunteer work. Help out the needy and disadvantaged. This does wonders for your self-confidence.

Get prepared
One important key to success is self-confidence. A key to self confidence is preparation. - Arthur Ashe

It is hard to be confident in yourself if you don’t think you will do well at something. Beat that feeling by preparing yourself as much as possible. As the saying goes- victory loves preparation.

Speak slowly
This is such a simple thing but it can make a huge difference on how people perceive you. A person in authority, with authority, speaks slowly. It shows confidence. Even if you don’t feel the confidence of someone who speaks slowly, try doing it a few times. It will make you feel more confident.

Listen to uplifting music
Music can instantly change your mood. So what’s your brand of music? What’s your album of all time? Listen to it when you feel you have hit rock bottom, when that creepy ‘I don’t feel good about myself’ feelings stirs up or before going for that daunting interview or speech. I can’t stress this more: Stay away from depressing music.

Sure it takes some time and conscious effort to implement these actions, but it’s worth it. These actions can give you that instant confidence boost you need to face daunting tasks. Next we look at steps you can take to give your self-confidence a long term boost to achieve your dreams and aspirations.
