4 actions that lowers bad cholesterol level

Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that’s found in all cells of the body. Your body needs some cholesterol to make hormones, vitamin D, and substances that help you digest foods. Your body makes all the cholesterol it needs. However, cholesterol also is found in some of the foods you eat.

High levels of low density cholesterol (bad cholesterol) increase your risk of heart disease and heart attacks.

These lifestyle changes can help improve cholesterol levels without medication.

1.     Get some exercise often: exercise gets your heart pumping and raise HDL the good cholesterol. Get at least 30 minutes of exercise daily or a few times a week.

2.     Eat healthier foods: foods rich in omega -3 fatty acids have a lot of heart benefits including raising good cholesterol level.

3.     Lose weight:  losing a few pounds can reduce bad cholesterol level. Keep an eye on your eating habit and daily routine. Mind what you eat and engage more in physical activities.

4.     Drink less alcohol: if you drink alcohol, do so in moderation. If you don’t drink, you should consider not starting at all. Too much alcohol can lead to serious health problems including high blood pressure, heart failure and stroke.
